VP of Data | Series B SaaS | Boston, MA | $275,000 + Bonus + Equity | Q4 hire
The business we are representing has just secured series B funding, gaining a $22,500,000 investment from a top VC firm. With this they are looking to significantly the headcount over the 2 years, including the Data team. This is an excellent opportunity to cement yourself in a high growth SaaS. They have a B2B platform that helps small to medium sized businesses oversee their spending, manage stock and recommend areas to invest in, based on their company sales data and objectives.
They also have charming offices based in the Downtown area of Boston, a 10-minute walk from South Station.
The Role
The role consists of initially being an IC, with the view of hiring the infamous ‘generalist’ Data Analyst/Engineer within the 6 months. You will also be initial be responsible for reports to help the business make key, swift data-driven decisions.
As the role progresses, you will have more management tasks and be less ‘hands on’, however if you wish to stay plugged in with the technology, they welcome a hands-on manager (to an extent!).
- Previously demonstrated success in a SaaS business and a solid understanding of key SaaS metrics such as – CLV, ARR, MRR, CAC, Churn, Retention etc.
- Partner with leaders in the Sales, Marketing and Finance teams – providing them with data to help them make key decisions – in short, showing them the power of data.
- Constantly be on the look out for new emerging technologies that can increase productivity – ‘’1% better every day’’ mentality.
- As the team grows in areas such as Data Science, Engineering and Analytical – you will demonstrate a solid understanding of all verticals and be able to oversee projects.
- Oversee creation visualization tools that will allow key stakeholders to easily interpret day-to-day performance.
- Make continuous improvements to all data aspects within the business.
What you need
- Experience using Dashboards (preferable Tableau or Power BI) & SQL
- Experience with DBT
- Experience building out data infrastructures from scratch
- Experience with Python
- Experience with Snowflake
- Excellent understanding of data modelling
- 8+ years’ experience in Analytics and business intelligence
- 6+ years’ management experience or working at Director/VP level
